A customer from Kuwait had bought SNF naphthalene sulfonate superplasticizer in China before, so he was familiar with the market price. When our business manager made the first quotation, the customer was very satisfied with our price. However, since the ocean freight had been rising at that time, the customer said he could accept the FOB price but not the CIF price. Since he did not want to bear the extra ocean freight, the shipment was delayed for nearly a month.
During this period, we updated the price for the customer several times. When the ocean freight was stable, the customer readily accepted the CIF price. It only took us ten days from signing the contract, payment to delivery.
